Role Description This is a contract, on-site English Language Trainer role based in Portugal. The trainer will deliver engaging English language lessons to adult learners, using a variety of teaching methods and materials aligned with client and course objectives. Daily responsibilities include planning lessons, conducting group and one-to-one sessions, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves customizing content to different proficiency levels, maintaining accurate training records, and collaborating with the training team to ensure consistent quality. The trainer is expected to support learners’ communication skills for professional and everyday contexts, while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Strong command of English, with excellent grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, and the ability to explain language concepts clearly.
- Experience teaching English as a second or foreign language to adults, preferably in classroom or corporate training settings.
- Ability to design structured lesson plans, adapt materials to learner needs, and use a range of teaching techniques and activities.
- Skilled in assessing language levels, tracking progress, and providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner improvement.
- Effective classroom management and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups and encourage participation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and learner-centered approach.
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent) and a bachelor’s degree in languages, education, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with using digital tools (e.g., presentation software, online resources) to enhance in-person training sessions.
- Ability to work on-site in Portugal, with flexibility to accommodate client schedules.
