We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated English Educator to join our growing team. This role involves delivering engaging online lessons to students from Year 3 to Year 11, helping them build strong literacy skills and achieve academic excellence.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching across multiple stages of the UK curriculum and be confident preparing students for KS2 SATs, 11+ Grammar School Entrance Examinations, GCSE English Language, and GCSE English Literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, interactive online English lessons for students in Years 3–11.
- Prepare students for:
- KS2 SATs
- 11+ Grammar School Entrance Examinations
- GCSE English Language
- GCSE English Literature
- Plan and deliver structured lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Create engaging learning resources, homework, and assessments.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional online classroom environment.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English Literature, English Language, Education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience teaching or tutoring GCSE English.
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
- Experience preparing students for GCSE, KS2 SATs, and 11+ examinations.
- Familiarity with major GCSE examination boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Eduqas.
- Confidence teaching students from Year 3 through Year 11.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Proficiency in delivering online lessons using a pen tablet and/or an interactive digital whiteboard.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection with a professional online teaching setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience within the UK education system.
- Experience preparing students for grammar school entrance examinations.
- Strong understanding of GCSE assessment objectives, mark schemes, and examination techniques.
- Experience using online teaching platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
