Role Description:
This is a part-time remote role for an English and Mathematics Mentor at Codeyoung. In this role, you will conduct engaging online sessions to teach foundational and intermediate concepts in English and Mathematics to school-age learners. You will prepare lesson plans aligned with Codeyoung’s student-centric approach, facilitate interactive activities, and adapt your teaching style to different learning needs and levels. Daily tasks include clarifying concepts, providing constructive feedback on assignments, tracking learner progress, and communicating with learners and guardians as needed. You will collaborate with the academic team to refine teaching materials and share best practices to continuously improve the learning experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong English Teaching skills with the ability to explain language concepts clearly and adapt content to different age groups and proficiency levels.
- Ability to teach core Mathematics concepts with clarity, using examples and problem-solving approaches suited for young learners.
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally and empathetically with learners and their guardians in an online environment.
- Training experience, including facilitating virtual classes, guiding group activities, and providing individualized support and feedback.
- Comfort with using online teaching platforms and digital tools for live classes, assignments, and progress tracking.
- Fluency in English; additional language and Translation skills are an advantage in supporting diverse learner backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring or tutoring children or adolescents in academic subjects is highly beneficial.
- Reliable internet connection, a quiet teaching environment, and the ability to work flexible hours across different time zones.
