Position Summary
Pittsboro Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our intermediate teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students in grades 3-5, creating a safe and engaging classroom environment, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of each student.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and district curriculum.
Deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student learning and development.
Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and collaborative planning with grade-level and interdisciplinary teams.
Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning and engagement.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and other required documentation.
Uphold school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.
Foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
Valid Indiana teaching license for Elementary Education (K-6).
Prior experience in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
Strong understanding of child development and instructional best practices.
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student success.
