The Goddard School in Independence is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and experienced Teachers to join our team of early childhood professionals. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering a joyful, inquiry-based learning environment for children under the age of five, using the Wonder of Learning curriculum to spark curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Candidates must be able work until 6pm, Monday through Friday.
Current Openings
Infants 6 weeks – 12 months
Older Toddlers 2-2.5 years
Early Preschool 2.5-3 and not potty trained
Preschool 3 years and potty trained
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Implementation:
Plan, implement, and adapt engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences rooted in the Wonder of Learning philosophy, encouraging exploration, collaboration, and discovery.
Child Development:
Support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of each child through intentional interactions and responsive caregiving.
Classroom Environment:
Create a warm, welcoming, and developmentally rich classroom environment that inspires learning through play, projects, and child-led inquiry.
Observation & Documentation:
Observe and document children’s interests, progress, and developmental milestones; use this information to inform curriculum planning and communicate with families.
Family Partnership:
Build strong, respectful relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and shared celebrations of learning.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with co-teachers and peers to maintain consistency, support one another, and ensure smooth daily routines.
Health & Safety:
Follow all Goddard School policies and licensing regulations to ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for children.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed early childhood setting.
Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with children, families, and team members.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
