Summary
Bridges School is a nationally accredited early childhood program located in Cos Cob, CT. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, team-oriented classroom teacher for our Reggio-inspired Mixed Age Program. The daily schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am-1:00pm and 8:00am-3:30pm on Wednesdays. Additional afternoon hours are possible. Our teachers work in collaborative teams of three.

- familiar with the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education
Duties
- Implementing an inquiry-based curriculum, guided by the theories of social constructivism and based on developmentally appropriate practices
- Documenting the learning process
- Communicating with families regularly regarding child's classroom experience and progress across all developmental domains
- Conducting parent-teacher conferences twice per year
- Engaging thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents
- Reflecting on own teaching practice, working toward professional development goals
Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- One year of experience as a classroom teacher
- Familiar with the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the Bank Street approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with NAEYC's Developmentally Appropriate Practices and the CT ELDS and DOTS
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
