Early Childhood Specialist, Alpha – $100,000/year USD Jobs in Austin, TX at Crossover

Title: Early Childhood Specialist, Alpha – $100,000/year USD

Company: Crossover

Location: Austin, TX

  • $100,000 annual W2 compensation, disbursed weekly; full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • On-site role at an Alpha school in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)

You are not here to teach. You are here to motivate.

The most encouraging thing you can offer a six-year-old who reached 99% of their target is to insist it's not finished. If that expectation unsettles you, this role is not for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.

At Alpha, students in grades K-2 complete their academic learning through AI-driven applications in two hours daily. No classroom lectures. No paper worksheets. Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, concentration, and feedback literacy. These workshops serve as frameworks, not rigid scripts—the most effective specialists customize them for their cohort and create new ones when gaps appear. The remaining half of your day is dedicated to 1:1 sessions or small-group coaching, analyzing Coachbot data, and guiding each student toward 100% completion of their weekly app objectives. With children aged five and six, energy and play are not supplementary; they are the foundation for sustained attention and learning. Warmth builds trust and earns you permission to challenge. Challenge communicates your confidence in their capacity.

A successful quarter means every student completes their weekly app targets, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and over 90% report they love you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means the role expectations are not being met. In your first year, you internalize the system; once you demonstrate consistent standards, you become eligible for Lead Guide, where you mentor new hires while continuing direct work with students.

If you prefer conventional teaching, need a pre-built curriculum delivered to you, or view warmth and rigor as opposing forces, this position is not the right fit. If you have been an early-elementary educator who excelled during circle time, a camp counselor for young children, a coach in youth sports, a performer in children's theater, or anyone capable of commanding a room of kindergarteners through presence, play, and energy, the final step before receiving an offer is a shadow day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for groups of 10-15 students in grades K-2, covering public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other essential skills
  • Conducting daily 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions to keep students on track for weekly app objectives, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's motivational structures (school currency, leaderboards), and the individual rapport you develop with each child
  • Administering Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery assessment) for each life skill, then coaching students who do not pass until mastery is achieved
  • Engaging kindergarteners authentically with songs, stories, movement, and play, while maintaining real, measurable expectations for first and second graders
  • Serving as the caring adult children are excited to see at arrival AND the adult who will not accept complacency

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by you
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up; Alpha supplies the framework and you animate it
  • Passively monitoring kids on devices; motivation here is hands-on, individualized, and persistent
  • Adjusting a weekly target downward so a student can succeed; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not changing the goal
  • Grading assignments, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent communication, and the other tasks do not exist in this model
