Responsibilities
- Assess the children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans.
- Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Supervise staff, trainees, and volunteers, and coordinate activities with other early childhood educators and assistants.
- Lead activities such as telling stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
- Plan and maintain an environment that safeguards the health, security, and well-being of children.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
- First Aid Certificate.
- CPR Certificate.
- Experience in early childhood education is an asset.
