- The Director – Research is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting and advancing the university’s research vision, strategy, and impact.
- Reporting to and assisting the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Director will play a key role in strengthening the university’s research ecosystem, promoting excellence, and enhancing national and global research standing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor in developing and implementing the university’s research agenda
- Support strategic planning and execution of research initiatives aligned with institutional goals
- Oversee research centers, institutes, and interdisciplinary programs under the guidance of the Pro Vice-Chancellor
- Contribute to the development of research policies, frameworks, and governance structures
- Identify and facilitate major research funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships
- Support national and international collaborations with academic, industry, and government stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and quality standards in research
- Promote high-impact publications, patents, and knowledge dissemination
- Mentor faculty and research teams to enhance research capacity and performance Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution
- Minimum 12 years of experience in academic research and leadership roles
- Strong track record of publications, citations, and funded research projects
- Experience in managing large-scale research initiatives and teams
