2 Hour Learning operates a model in which students achieve learning at twice the conventional rate within just two hours daily. This performance stems from AI-driven tutoring, mastery-based advancement, and structures that depart fundamentally from traditional classrooms. The evidence is compelling. We now require a leader capable of harmonizing execution across varied school contexts, elevating academic standards, and serving as the authoritative voice for a model anchored in validated learning science.
This position is not theoretical. It is a leadership directive. You will direct academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, surface execution shortfalls, and coach elite teams toward tangible results. You will operationalize our scientific foundation and advocate for this model globally.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science principles into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational systems, and application architecture.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and consistently effective.
- Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
- Ensuring strategic alignment via planning processes, feedback mechanisms, and milestone tracking to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to influence global perspectives on educational reform.

- Producing academic research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.

Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across all schools, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated outcomes.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
