Position Overview
Parul University invites applications for the position of Dean–Faculty of Liberal Arts. The University seeks a visionary academic leader with an outstanding record of academic excellence, research and institutional leadership to provide strategic direction to Faculty of Liberal Arts. he Dean will play a pivotal role in fostering interdisciplinary education, promoting innovative teaching and research, enhancing global collaborations, and driving the Faculty towards academic distinction and institutional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership for all academic programs within the Faculty.
- Drive curriculum development and innovation aligned with national and international standards.
- Promote interdisciplinary learning and outcome-based education.
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and student success.
Research & Innovation
- Foster a strong research culture across the Faculty.
- Encourage publications in high-impact journals, books, and funded research projects.
- Develop interdisciplinary research centres and collaborative initiatives.
- Promote innovation, policy research, and societal impact through scholarship.
Faculty Development
- Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.
- Encourage faculty participation in conferences, FDPs, international collaborations, and research projects.
- Build a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
Student Development
- Enhance holistic student development through academic mentoring, experiential learning, internships, cultural engagement, and leadership opportunities.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strengthen placement support and career development initiatives.
Academic Collaborations
- Develop partnerships with national and international universities, research institutions, industries, NGOs, cultural organizations, and government agencies.
- Facilitate exchange programmes, collaborative research, and academic mobility.
Quality Assurance & Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with UGC, NAAC, NEP 2020, and other statutory requirements.
- Lead accreditation, ranking, and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Monitor academic performance and institutional effectiveness.
Administration & Strategic Planning
- Prepare strategic plans, annual budgets, and resource allocation.
- Strengthen student enrolment, academic expansion, and institutional branding.
- Coordinate with University leadership on academic and administrative matters.
Eligibility
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline within Liberal Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences from a recognized University.
- Minimum 15 years of teaching, research, or academic administration experience.
- Minimum 5 years of academic leadership experience at the level of Dean, Director, Professor, Head of Department, or equivalent.
- Strong research credentials with quality publications, funded projects, and academic contributions.
- Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, faculty development, and institutional governance.
