THE GRANDE PRAIRIE PUBLIC SCHOOL DIVISION is seeking an experienced teacher to join the Teaching and Learning Department. Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning, the Curriculum Lead Teacher will support educators in our schools with a primary focus on curriculum implementation and refinement. The successful candidate will be required to travel to various GPPSD locations throughout the city.
Responsibilities Include
- Support elementary and grades 7-9 curriculum implementation and refinement.
- Collaborate with teachers and leaders to support pedagogy.
- Collaborate with teachers on planning, instruction & assessment.
- Curate resources and provide recommendations.
- Documentation development.
- Evidence/data gathering and analysis.
- Support professional learning within varying levels of the system.
- Apply educational research to support practice.
- Collaborate with other Curriculum Leads.
Qualifications And Skills
- Minimum of 7 years of successful teaching practice.
- While not a requirement, experience with grades 7-9 is an asset.
- Experience using a wide variety of research-based strategies.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of curricula.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong collegial and collaborative relationships.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Innovative approaches to problem solving.
- A Master's degree in curriculum or a related field is an asset.
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A recent clean Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check
