Assist in providing quality education as an On-Call Elementary Teacher at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School. This role prioritizes student engagement and cultural integration in teaching practices.
You will assume the responsibilities of classroom teachers, ensuring adherence to educational plans and supporting students’ unique needs.
Your role encompasses supervising classes, managing student behavior through positive discipline strategies, and attending daily language and culture sessions. You’ll focus on creating a safe and friendly learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform the teacher’s duties in their absence
• Follow pre-established daily and yearly plans
• Support positive integration of students with disabilities
• Supervise all educational and recreational activities
• Assist in preparing student report cards when needed
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification
• Valid BC teaching certificate or in process
• Current First Aid/CPR certificate, or ability to acquire
• Preference given to those knowledgeable about Okanagan culture
• Capacity to provide a secure learning atmosphere
