Role Description
Florida-based educators are strongly preferred, although we welcome applications from qualified candidates across the United States.
We are currently seeking tutors/instructors in the following areas:
– Elementary tutoring, especially K–6
– Reading and literacy support
– Math support, including foundational math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry
– ELA, writing, and reading comprehension
– Science tutoring
– SAT/ACT preparation
– Executive functioning, study skills, and homework support
– ESE / students with unique abilities
– AI literacy, coding, digital literacy, and STEM enrichment
– Financial literacy, career readiness, public speaking, and future-ready skills
Credentialed Tutors / Instructors at EduQuencher deliver high-quality instruction across multiple subject areas to learners of varying ages and backgrounds in a remote, online environment. This contract (1099), remote role involves planning and delivering live virtual sessions, creating and updating lesson materials, and supporting learners through one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, or structured courses. Instructors are expected to assess learner needs, track progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing scheduling within the platform, maintaining accurate records of sessions, collaborating with EduQuencher staff on curriculum alignment and platform features, and using digital tools (including AI-powered resources) to enhance engagement and outcomes. Tutors / Instructors are also encouraged to contribute ideas for new courses or learning experiences that align with their expertise and learner demand.
Preferred Credential Documentation
Florida certification is welcome, but it is not the only qualifying pathway. Applicants may qualify through one or more of the following:
– Valid Florida educator certificate
– Valid teaching certificate from another state
– Adjunct teaching certificate
– Florida Statement of Status of Eligibility
– Bachelor’s or graduate degree in the subject area you tutor
– FTCE subject-area exam documentation
– National certification such as NBPTS or ABCTE
– Reading/intervention training such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Barton, MACTE, PCET, ALTA, or similar
– Other documentation showing subject-matter expertise, instructional training, or tutoring qualification
Qualifications
- Relevant subject-matter expertise in one or more academic or professional areas (e.g., K–12 academics, test prep, language learning, business, technology, design, or other specialized fields).
- Valid teaching credential, professional certification, or demonstrable instructional experience in tutoring, classroom teaching, corporate training, or higher education.
- Strong instructional design and teaching skills, including lesson planning, curriculum alignment to standards or outcomes, and the ability to tailor content for diverse learners.
- Proficiency with online teaching tools and virtual classroom platforms; comfort using video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and interactive resources.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and active listening skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and encourage learner participation.
- Experience assessing learner progress and providing constructive, actionable feedback to support improvement and confidence.
- Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor, manage a flexible schedule, and maintain professional reliability in a remote environment.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates based on qualifications, certifications, subject expertise, and experience. Most opportunities range from $40-$60+ per hour, with higher rates available for specialized instruction, test preparation, intervention services, and advanced subject areas.
This is a flexible contractor opportunity. Compensation is based on completed learner sessions and varies according to subject area, experience, credentials, and demand. There are no required minimum hours, and tutors have the flexibility to set their availability while building their student roster.
