Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Studies Teacher role based in Enfield. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging Construction Studies lessons in line with the relevant curriculum and assessment requirements, including both theory and practical workshop activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing schemes of work and lesson plans, creating and assessing assignments and examinations, and maintaining accurate records of learner progress and attendance. The role involves supporting learners with diverse abilities, promoting safe working practices in construction-related activities, and managing classroom and workshop resources effectively. The teacher will also contribute to the wider school community through participation in meetings, collaborative planning, subject department initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Strong teaching and education skills, with proven experience in delivering Construction Studies or related technology subjects at post-primary level.
- Ability to design and implement effective lesson planning and assessment strategies that support diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners, collaborate with colleagues, and liaise with parents/guardians and other stakeholders.
- Experience in training, mentoring, or guiding learners in practical, skills-based activities, including safe use of tools and equipment.
- Recognised teaching qualification and appropriate subject-specific qualification in Construction Studies, Construction, Technology, or a related field.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant curricula, assessment practices, and health and safety standards in construction education.
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centred practice and willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
- Familiarity with using digital tools and platforms to support teaching, learning, and assessment is an advantage.
