Role Overview The Clinical Practice Leader plays a pivotal role in the healthcare team, bridging the gap between clinical expertise and education. The role is essential to ensure that clinicians, both new and experienced, are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high‑quality patient care. The Clinical Practice Leader impacts patient care by enabling nurses to work to the fullest scope of their role by advancing standards of care, fostering and evaluating required competence and professional practice, and shaping the next generation of clinicians.
What we need We are seeking an innovative, self‑directed individual with exceptional leadership qualities to support excellence in clinical practice and education within the resource team. In addition to supporting the resource team there will be corporate education and training required of the role to support organizational initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, assessment, and mentorship.
Staying updated on healthcare advancements, collaborating with institutions, and engaging in research to enhance nursing education and improve patient care.
Providing clear and constructive feedback to staff, promoting a culture encouraging speaking up for safety, identifying, nurturing talent, and positively influencing the team.
What you bring to the role Current registration with the CNO in good standing.
Master’s degree in nursing with an education focus, in progress or completed.
Post‑graduate Certificate in Perioperative/Operating Room.
CNA Certification in Perioperative Nursing.
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
Membership with the ORNAC and RNAO.
Experience teaching and training adults, employing adult learning principles.
BLS instructor with Heart and Stroke.
Excellent leadership skills with ability to coach, mentor, and motivate.
Expertise in formal and informal education, coaching, curriculum development, classroom instruction, clinical training, assessment and evaluation.
Demonstrated excellence in inter‑professional collaborative practice, communication and organizational skills.
Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking and problem solving.
Computer proficiency, preferably in MS Office and Meditech EMR.
Demonstrated good attendance and performance record, maintaining a high standard.
Commitment to a safe environment for staff, patients and families in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and hospital policies.
Work schedule Monday to Friday
0700‑1500, with flexibility in schedule required to accommodate operational needs.
Compensation H‑PLRange:$47.36–$67.79.
