Position: Classroom Teacher (KS2)
Hooe Primary Academy is a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school at the heart of its community. We are proud of our strong ethos, where every child is supported to thrive both academically and personally. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher who will take responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class and play a full part in school life. You will deliver high-quality teaching that inspires children, supports excellent progress, and reflects our inclusive values. This position is to cover a period of maternity leave and may be for one term only.
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress, using both formative and summative methods
- Deliver statutory and non-statutory assessments
- Set clear, ambitious targets based on pupils’ prior attainment
- Meet the needs of all learners through effective differentiation
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports all pupils
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policy
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents and external agencies
- Lead and direct support staff effectively within the classroom
- Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities
- Uphold school and trust policies, including safeguarding and data protection
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2
- Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and a passion for learning
- Have secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Use assessment effectively to support pupil progress
- Have strong behaviour management skills, using a positive approach
- Are committed to inclusion and removing barriers to achievement

We are a one form entry school within Hooe which was established in 1926. We have a fantastic school site with three playgrounds, a large school field, and additional classroom spaces which are used for a range of activities. Our primary aim is to encourage all our pupils to be self‑confident, inquisitive, tolerant, positive individuals, who have respect for the differences of others.
