Position: Burnaby School District: Education Assistant Role
Become part of the Burnaby School District as an Education Assistant and play a crucial role in supporting students’ educational journeys. Assist with behavior management, curriculum implementation, and personal care to foster an inclusive learning environment.
This on-call role requires candidates with a Grade 12 completion and a year-long recognized program in special needs assistance. You must be capable of working with students with diverse needs and knowledgeable in using assistive technology. Physical capability and excellent communication skills are also necessary to thrive in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate behavior management strategies for students
• Help implement curriculum and ensure effective learning
• Support students in developing social skills
• Provide necessary personal care and physical help
• Follow safety procedures during all activities
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education completed
• One-year recognized training program in special needs
• Ability to work effectively with diverse needs
• Knowledgeable about relevant adaptive technology
• Strong communication and initiative skills
