JOB SUMMARY:
Guaranteed interview for open teaching positions and primary consideration for long-term substitute needs.
Reports to:
Principal
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
* Teaches lesson plan(s) as outlined by the absent teacher.
* Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the building principal.
* Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the interests of students.
* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
* Implements all rules and regulations, polices and administrative guidelines as adopted by the Naugatuck Board of Education.
* Becomes acquainted with parents; reports any unusual occurrences or events to the principal or designated representative.
* Demonstrates knowledge and incorporates technology in daily tasks as required.
* Attend staff meetings, department meetings, report card conferences and faculty meeting as required.
* Attend in-service professional development when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or related field required.
* Valid, grade appropriate Connecticut Teacher Certification required.
WAGE RATE: $130/day for certified, $115 non certified
