ATS Term Lecturer – Psychological Disorders Jobs in Camrose, Canada at University of Alberta
The Psychology and Mental Health program at the Augustana Faculty has a sessional teaching vacancy for Fall Term 2026 to teach AUPSY 483 Psychological Disorders. The Fall 2026 term runs from September 1 through December 8, 2026. The examination period runs until December 22. This is a required course in the Psychology and Mental Health program course is offered annually.
Location – This role is in person. Work primarily takes place at Augustana Campus, Camrose. Online teaching is negotiable for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
- Develop lecture and seminar material related to psychological disorders that address course learning outcomes.
- Learning outcomes include consideration of both western and non-western concepts of mental health and mental illness. In particular, students should be encouraged to critically consider diagnostic practices (e.g., DSM-5-TR) alongside needs and perspectives on mental health and mental illness of Indigenous communities (e.g., addressing Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls 21 and 22).
- Prepare, administer, and grade examinations and other course assessments appropriate for a senior seminar.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to respond to student questions.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology is required.
- Registered Psychologist in Canada with experience in diagnosis.
- Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in teaching at the post-secondary level.
