Job Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Associate Lecturer in Business Management to join our academic team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are passionate about teaching and supporting student success.
You will support the delivery of engaging and high-quality teaching across our business programmes, while benefiting from structured training, mentoring, and professional development to build your skills as an educator. This role offers a clear pathway for progression into a Lecturer position.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
- Support the delivery of teaching sessions across Business Management programmes (Levels 4–6).
- Assist in preparing lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources.
- Co-deliver or independently deliver sessions (with support and guidance).
- Use a range of teaching methods and digital tools to engage students.
- Deliver sessions in-person and/or online as required.
- Provide academic support through tutorials, workshops, and drop-in sessions.
- Assessment & Feedback
- Support the preparation and delivery of assessments and coursework.
- Assist with marking and providing constructive feedback (training provided).
- Learn and apply internal assessment and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain accurate student records and meet deadlines with support.
- Student Support & Engagement
- Build positive relationships with students and provide guidance on academic progress.
- Support student engagement, attendance, and participation.
- Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in student reviews and academic support processes.
- Professional Development
- Engage in structured training and mentoring programmes.
- Work towards relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., HEA Fellowship or PGCert).
- Develop subject knowledge, teaching practice, and pedagogical skills.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and CPD activities.
- General Duties
- Uphold institutional policies including safeguarding, equality, and health & safety.
- Maintain professionalism and act as a positive role model for students.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive academic team environment.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Interest in teaching, training, or working in an academic environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop as an educator.
- Good organisational and teamwork skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Some teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or training experience.
- Familiarity with virtual learning environments (e.g., Moodle, Teams).
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career in teaching or academia.
