Job Role: This role is responsible for teaching and training for assigned classes, courses and/or seminars and guide student outcomes.
Essential Duties:
- Teach and manage delivery of GIA approved content to assigned classes, courses and seminars consistent with GIA guidelines and standards.
- Manage class set-up (for instance gathering materials, managing equipment etc.)
- Ensure administrative class management responsibilities are completed in a timely manner (e.g., attendance, assessments, posting grades, documentation, etc.)
- Addresses student concerns, complaints, or issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage student evaluations, assignments and projects. Counsel students regarding academic performance and methods for improvement.
- Maintains and fosters sensitivity and respect for a culturally diverse classroom and work environment.
- Maintains a positive climate for learning through appropriate classroom management.
- Conduct and facilitate student orientation, and graduation activities.
- Travel and adapt to different work schedules, as needed, to deliver classes across multiple locations within and outside the UAE.
- Participate in education meetings and training, as needed, concerning course material instruction.
- Liaise with the various stakeholders for any concerns, updates and for any operational or administrative requirements.
- Engage in educational marketing and market development activities.
- Represent GIA in different forums, panel discussions, industry events or other platforms where GIA is participating or being represented.
- Assist with any special projects, exhibitions and trade shows or any other additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3+ years of trade experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Teaching, training or mentoring experience preferred
- Arabic speaker is preferred
- Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma preferred.
