Job Description
The School of Liberal Arts at Uttaranchal University is looking for a highly motivated and experienced English Assistant / Associate Professor to join our English faculty. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to student success. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of English courses and will contribute to the school’s ongoing efforts to maintain a high level of academic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level English courses
- Develop and update course materials and assessments
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication
- Mentor and advise students
- Participate in department and college committees
- Contribute to departmental and college-wide initiatives
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior faculty members
Qualifications
- Ph D in English Literature or related field from an accredited institution
- Significant teaching experience at the university level
- Strong research record in English Literature, with a focus on modern and contemporary literature
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic or professional settings
