SALARY: Minimum Base Salary – $84,480 – Final salary based on education and experience

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent
  • 3+ years related teaching experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Building Administration experience preferred
  • Missouri State Teaching Certification – Education Administration

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists the Intermediate School Principal by performing administrative duties while providing instructional leadership and supervision of programs. Ensures that all students acquire the grade level skills set forth by Missouri Department of Education and Hillsboro R-3 curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assists the Principal in promoting the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation and stewardship of a vision of learning.
  • Develops the best professional practices by researching, writing and using smart goals; using data for vision driven change; and planning continuous comprehensive school improvement.
  • Promotes student success by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and professional growth.
  • Develops, evaluates and refines curriculum to ensure conformance to state and School Board standards.
  • Conducts and evaluates student assessments that are grounded in the belief that each student can learn.
  • Monitors and supervises school common areas, cafeteria, halls and buses on a daily basis.
  • Supervises co-curricular activities.
  • Establishes individual relationships with staff members that focus on the professional development of that staff member.
  • Assists Principal in management of the organization, operations and resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment.
  • Uses varied principles, theories and models of management that support effective learning and teaching.
  • Develops a comprehensive list of students K-12 who are struggling to master appropriate skills at grade level and refers these individuals to the appropriate staff.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of alternative learning opportunities.
  • Organizes and facilitates the selection of Student of the Month.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the operational procedures of the school and involves stakeholders in the decision-making process.
  • Develops school policies and regulations consistent with local, state and federal.
  • Revises, publishes and distributes the Student Handbook.
  • Plans and organizes school tutoring program.
  • Assists in the evaluation of teachers and designs and implements decisive and comprehensive professional development plans for teachers identified as needing assistance.
  • Assures the safety of students by demonstrating and using proper safety procedures.
  • Organizes and facilitates parent/teacher conferences.
  • Annually updates the Discipline Code as mandated by the state.
  • Responsible for disciplinary action for K-6 grade students. Specifically includes detention, O.S.S (Out of School Suspension), parent conferences, as well as keeping accurate records of each transaction.
  • Confers with teachers, students and parents concerning educational activities, policies and student behavioral or learning problems in school.

MARGINAL DUTIES

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community organizations and other schools to coordinate educational services.
  • Interviews substitute teacher applicants, reviews their credentials and completes necessary paperwork in cooperation with the District Central Office.
  • Attends all administrative meetings and serves on school/community committees.
  • Performs additional tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Administration experience preferred
  • Missouri State Teaching Certification – Administration

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
