SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-17, salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package (WVSDT Benefits & Total Rewards) equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct support to the Adult Programs Principal in managing and coordinating adult education initiatives.
  • Support and conduct regular visits to assigned facilities to ensure program effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of Adult Education teacher training, including facilitation of monthly staff Teams meetings.
  • Provide oversight and training related to GED programming within adult education facilities.
  • Manage LACES data systems, including data entry, monitoring, analysis, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support personnel supervision and management functions, including conducting teacher evaluations in accordance with Policy 5310 under the direction of the Principal.
  • Assist with curriculum support, review, and development to ensure instructional quality and alignment with program standards.
  • Coordinate and support the development and implementation of Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs, including the approval process.
  • Establish and maintain effective administrative systems and procedures to support school operations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with host agencies, school staff, and central office personnel to maximize program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promote and enhance the overall quality and performance of adult education programs.
  • Analyze and synthesize information to support data‑driven decision‑making and goal achievement.
  • Organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to ensure successful completion of program objectives.
  • Develop and implement systems to monitor student progress and improve educational outcomes.
  • Support the development and implementation of continuous school improvement processes.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the West Virginia Schools of Diversion and Transition (WVSDT) and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration and effectively manage group dynamics and consensus‑building efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Director, or Superintendent of WVSDT.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia professional certificate for school principal as required by State Board Policy 5202.
  • Possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully: (a) perform the job requirements (b) work within the special setting of an institution for troubled youth and adult offenders (c) work as part of a treatment team in concert with others (d) exhibit strong personnel management qualities; and (e) possess a strong background in curriculum.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing educational services to challenging students.

PREFERRED:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated leadership experience in Adult Education, Career and Technical Education, correctional education, or workforce development programs. Experience leading regional or statewide initiatives, developing new programs, and managing complex educational projects is preferred.
