Job Summary: The ASQ Specialist serves as an Early Childhood Development Specialist, responsible for coordinating and implementing the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) developmental monitoring system to ensure early identification of developmental strengths and potential delays in young children. This role is critical in supporting positive child outcomes by providing families and caregivers with timely, research-based developmental guidance, education, and resources. Through collaboration with families, staff, and community partners, the ASQ Specialist helps promote school readiness, strengthen parent-child interactions, and ensure children receive appropriate support as early as possible.

Responsibilities:

1. Promote positive parent-child relationships and optimal developmental outcomes for families with children under five.

2. Help parents/caregivers understand and complete developmental monitoring.

3. Help parents/caregivers follow up and complete the Ages and Stages Questionnaire tool.

4. Provide critical brain development information and parent-child interaction education to parents/caregivers.

5. When indicated by ASQ Connect, Connect parents/caregivers with the appropriate program specialist: Infant Resource Specialist, Developmental Specialist, Behavior Specialist, or other community resources.

6. Review, Input and maintain data into the HUB, Excel, Brooke’s and any other databases according to set guidelines.

7. Process all work within the established standard timeframes set and proofread own work to ensure its accuracy.

8. Prepare and review reports for quality assurance and accuracy.

9. Maintain a dependable, punctual work schedule appropriate to the needs of the program.

10. Adheres to all policies and procedures of the department.

11. Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.

12. Provide cumulative reports as requested.

13. Support the department and agency in the implementation and accomplishment of its mission.

14. Adhere to established safety procedures and practices in the work area.

Physical Responsibilities:

1. The ability to operate an automobile.

2. The ability to bend, stoop, and sit on floor.

3. The ability to lift to 10-15lbs.

4. The ability to drive to other locations as needed:

  • Counties served: Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Indian River

Equipment Used:

1. Standard office technology and equipment, including laptop/computer, printer, scanner, and multifunction devices.

2. Common productivity software and digital platforms as required for daily tasks.

3. Personal cell phone.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with major coursework in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Education, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or another related field.
  • Two years’ work experience working with young children and families.
  • Work experience may be substituted for education.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills in daily work.
  • Effective creative critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse communities/families, with demonstrated ability to exercise cultural humility.
  • Works well independently and takes initiative to solve problems and complete tasks and projects.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and manage stressful situations.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and practices in the work area.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
