Position: Art Teacher for Secondary Grades
Fernie Secondary School is looking for an Art Teacher to cover Grades 7-12. This full-time temporary position emphasizes Fine Arts and Media Design.
This role requires a qualified candidate with experience in teaching Fine Arts, Media Design, and Entrepreneurship at the Secondary level. The full-time contract runs from September 8, 2026, to June 25, 2027, and involves hands-on instruction in a creative learning environment. All responsibilities will be conducted on-site at Fernie Secondary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct classes in Art, Media Design, and Textiles
• Develop innovative and interactive lesson plans
• Provide constructive feedback on student work
• Promote creativity and critical thinking among students
• Coordinate with school staff for program development
Requirements:
• Preference for BC Teacher Certification
• Must have relevant degree or training
• Teaching experience in fine arts or related subjects
• Background in Media Design and Entrepreneurship
• Experience teaching at the Secondary education level
