About Kokoodi
Kokoodi is building the next generation of digital talent. We run a coding camp for young people, a summer internship that gives university students real industry experience, and a Labs programme where the best talent progresses into research and employment with Kokoodi and Appnable.
We are looking for someone who loves technology, enjoys teaching, embraces AI, and wants to help shape how future software engineers learn.
The role
This is not a traditional teaching job. Your main work is teaching and mentoring: leading our coding camp for teenagers, and mentoring our summer interns into productive software professionals. Alongside that, you will build sample projects and research new AI developer tools, and contribute to the wider engineering team.
Be clear-eyed about the mix. Teaching and mentoring come first. Building and research sit around them. We would rather you do the core brilliantly than spread yourself thin.
What you will do
Teach. Lead engaging live sessions for our coding camp, teaching modern software development using AI-assisted tools including Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and VS Code.
Mentor. Work alongside our engineering, QA, design and marketing teams to mentor interns, review their code, run workshops, and help them become productive professionals.
Build. Develop sample applications, coding challenges, demo projects and internal tools for the academy.
Research. Explore new tools each week, from Claude Code and MCP to Azure AI and Microsoft 365 AI, and recommend how Kokoodi and Appnable can use them.
What we are looking for
We care more about ability than qualifications. You will likely have:
- Strong software development skills.
- Experience coaching or mentoring others. You have helped people improve, whether junior developers, students, or a team, and you enjoy it.
- The ability to design, not just deliver. You can shape a camp curriculum and structure an intern programme, not only run someone else's.
- The knack for holding attention. You keep learners engaged, get them building something real quickly, and make them want to keep going. For this role that matters more than raw seniority.
- Curiosity about AI.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python or similar.
- Experience with Git and GitHub.
Bonus points if you have built products or created educational content.
