Role Description
The Academic Research Assistant / Online University Instructor / Academic Advisor is responsible for supporting academic research, delivering high-quality online instruction, and providing academic guidance to promote student success and educational excellence. This role contributes to research initiatives, curriculum delivery, and student development while maintaining academic standards and institutional objectives.
Key responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing research data, preparing research reports, and assisting with academic publications, presentations, and project documentation. The role ensures research activities are carried out accurately, ethically, and in accordance with established academic practices.
The position also delivers online learning experiences by facilitating virtual classes, preparing instructional materials, evaluating assignments, and providing timely feedback to students. It supports curriculum development and continuously enhances course content to improve learning outcomes and student engagement.
As an Academic Advisor, the role provides guidance on academic planning, course selection, program requirements, and learning strategies. It assists students in identifying academic goals, monitoring progress, and accessing appropriate institutional resources to support their educational journey.
Collaboration with faculty members, researchers, academic departments, and administrative teams is essential to ensure effective research execution, quality instruction, and comprehensive student support. Qualifications
Strong understanding of academic research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques, literature review, data collection, analysis, and academic writing.
Knowledge of higher education practices, online teaching methodologies, curriculum development, student assessment, and learning management systems (LMS). Familiarity with virtual learning technologies and digital instructional tools is advantageous.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate research findings and support evidence-based academic initiatives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare research reports, academic materials, presentations, and provide clear instructional guidance to diverse audiences.
