Over the next five years, the organization will grow its reach across India, focusing on operating high-quality schools for lower income and middle-income Indians, making good kindergarten education accessible to a large population of the country.  The organization has 40 kindergartens and 20 private K–10 schools across Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Role Description The Academic Lead – Kindergarten Program is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. The person in this role will design, refine, and oversee the kindergarten academic curriculum, teacher development and innovation. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding classroom practices, supporting teachers with training, coaching, and regular academic reviews and creating lesson plans and teaching materials. The Academic Lead will monitor learning quality through direct classroom observations, assessments, and feedback from team members, making data-informed improvements to the program. The role also involves collaborating with school leadership and cross-functional teams to support program implementation across multiple centres and contribute to future scaling plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in early childhood education, child development, and age-appropriate pedagogy for learners aged 3–6 years.
  • Experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and academic program development for kindergarten or primary education.
  • Skills in teacher training, classroom observation, mentoring, and providing constructive academic feedback.
  • Ability to design and interpret student assessments, track learning outcomes, and use data to improve academic quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, school leadership, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to holistic education, including creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and socio-emotional development.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in rural or underserved educational settings in India is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple centres and initiatives.
  • Working proficiency in English and at least one regional language (such as Kannada, Telugu or Marathi) is an added advantage.
