5th & 6th Grade Summer Camp Teacher Jobs in Silver Spring, MD at Rainbow Family Christian Academy
Dates of Employment: July 7-August 8 (Paid training- June 26-July 2)
Direct Supervisor: Camp Director/Principal
Responsibilities:
InCamp Summer Program is a Christian camp that exists to ignite a fire in children and youth for Jesus. InCamp does this through daily morning devotion and afternoon chapel time. Part-Time Teachers provide academic review in the morning. Full time teachers provide morning academic review and assist with afternoon activities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage the camp classroom environment and ensuring the safety and well-being of campers.
Provide grade-appropriate and engaging academic review with campers for the morning session
Assist Activity Coordinator with afternoon activities (Full-Time position)
Provide an example of Jesus Christ to campers and build positive and nurturing relationships with them.
Assist in leading morning devotion and afternoon chapel service.
Assist with recess supervision and lunch duty as needed
Supervise and ensure safety of campers on field trips and walks to the local park
Opportunity to stay on as a teacher with RFCA for the new school year.
Candidate Qualities:
As a ministry of Rainbow Family Christian Center, Rainbow Family Christian Academy (RFCA) and InCamp seeks staff whose personal beliefs are in agreement with the RFCA Beliefs (as outlined on the RFCA website) and maintain a lifestyle consistent with the RFCA Standard of Conduct, with a compatible commitment and evidence of interest in walking out their Christian faith. Moreover, candidates must be professional, reliable, patient, and nurturing. They must genuinely enjoy working with children and communicate well with families and coworkers. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. Must be able to successfully complete a background investigation and CPS clearance. Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program. Must have or be willing to become CPR/First Aide Certified. RFCA prefers candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and experience working in a classroom and/or camp environment.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
